Long ago, when the moons still wept and the trees knew sorrow, a warrior rose from cursed slumber. None could say how many winters had passed while the earth held him in silence. He awoke blind, alone, and broken beneath a sky he no longer recognized. His tribe was ash. Their voices...gone, save for the screams that haunted the edges of his memory.She had come in the shape of a woman, but she was not of this world. The Pale Willow, they called her...she who walked with bare feet and no shadow, who could wear a lover’s face or a beast’s. She did not kill out of wrath, but out of need, like a tree sheds its leaves or a tide claims the shore. And yet, she had left him breathing.Why? He never knew.Scarred and hollow, the warrior stood as dawn broke across the land, its warmth like a forgotten name on his skin. He didn’t speak...not yet. Words were for men who still had something to lose. Instead, he grunted, growled low to himself, and pressed on. And so began the tale of a man with no sight, no people, and no past...only the memory of her face, and the oath he would carve into the bones of the world: That when he found her...whatever she had become, whatever horrors she had summoned...he would give her the gift she had given him:Silence.
